Lets get Down the Nevada way!!!
To me the system set up by Nevada is the most acceptable way to meet in the middle. The porn industry should realize this and be happy that this system could suffice in other states. It is really not that regulatory but at the same time helps to keep safety issues concerning HIV and AIds in the spot light.
To me this is for the good of the industry, even though they say they regulate it good enough already. I mean really the nevada regulations that allow them to produce and do whatever do not really restrict them all that much and let them continue doing what they were doing before. Alls this system does is help prevent any more breakouts and covers the states behinds from any real backlash.
When church goers complain about porn!
I have written a few other posts that have included the point about people have the choice to be in these movies. I have stated before that I see no problem with any kind of Adult Film (besides invovling animals) if it was two (or more) ADULTS who gave consent to perform in these videos.
This to me should be a issue noone can argue with mainly because noone argues people who baptize there children into a church before the child can decide if he/she would like to be brought into the church. I for one am a baptized catholic and went through the ranks but rarely attend mass anymore because I choose not to. When I hear catholics talking out against porn I always confront them about this issue and make sure they realize that the Adults performing in these videos have given consent to take part in the film.
Most responses I get are just a “How Dare you!!!!!” and they stop listening to my point because it truely kills there arguement and I am happy because I do not have to listen to these people any longer.
How can you act like it’s easy
In response to this post which the blogger seems to act like setting up a sucessful company like Playboy was easy and just fell into its place on its own. I have watched a few specials on Hugh himself and the company and seen how much work he had to do to get it started. Ya it looks like he does nothing now but thats because he put in the hours when he was young and created a stable company that he know can relax and watch it grow without much effort on his part.
But here is the real catch , it grows because people all across the globe buy his products. Basically the way the blogger compared Hugh to his girls in his magazines was the exact same relationship a CEO of a toy company is gonna have with factory workers who make the toys. The CEO is gonna be the one who benefits from there hard work. That is how a company is set up, a person with the know how and talent for making proper decisions that can succesfully make a company profitable will always lead.
Finally it was Said !!!!!!!!
Responding to this post by Vanessa’s Ideas on Porn and COMPLETELY AGREEING with her points. Seriously the society we live in today has taken a “It’s someone elses fault” approach to any action that has a consequence and this includes the porn industry. To me this all stems from other people pushing there views on people who are different from them. I beleive that everyone has the right to state there opinion but when others views are pushed on our culture it makes people feel as if they have to justify what they are doing to others, such as saying you grew up with out a father figure made you become a adult film star.
Open your eyes people, everyone has the free will to be what they want, no one is pushed into becoming a pornstar when they sign that contract and take the money. If someone decides to take part in a porno then that is ones choice. If you do not approve of pornographic material then do not watch it. The problem is all these people who feel the need to make people feel like they are in the wrong whether it be the porn industry or smoking weed, they are making people blame others because they are scared of being cast out by our society.
Is Adelphi doing anything really Different?
Ok I understand Adelphi is breaking into a new market for the company, but is it really anything new for a cable company to be doing? As a teenager and pre-teen I think many males can agree with me here that pornography was available on cable television.
I beleive the company that hosted cable television in my area of northern New York was Time Warner. As you flipped through the channels you could order all kinds of porn just like one would order a movie from Pay-Per-View.
My point here is that Adelphi is actually behind other cable/satellite companies in providing this service to adults. But as far as I can see it, Adelphi has the chance to set the bar as far preventing children from viewing these materials. I can tell you right now that Time warner does not have a hard system to figure out. Most of the passwords are preset and are very easy combinations if there set at all. As far as billing information children can easily get away with it based on the fact that it is 1) all done at the touch of a button on the remote when ordering and 2) On the bill it shows up just as a “Pay Per View” selection with the price next to it. I think if Adelphi wants to they can impress the public with making this process much more child proof by adding a few steps to the ordering process. A few examples they could use are maybe adding a customer code, credit card information to check proof of age, or maybe some secret question that only the parents know the answer to.
I beleive that if they take the time and effort to do this people will not look down on Adelphi but maybe hold them up for doing the job right.
How can you compare Porn to dealing drugs?
In response to this post where the blogger compares making a living in the porn business to dealing drugs I find it to be very ignorant. Now im not trying to offend anyone I am just stating a opinion here.
You say he is “Making money off of people fulfilling their sick fantasies “. I am going to have to disagree with you here and say that just because one does not approve of sexual acts being filmed and watched by others for enjoyment does not make it a sick fantasy. If the adults in the films have given full consent and want to do it then I see no problem in it. If you look at the number of sales of movies and downloads and everything else, people want to see these things, not just your occasional sick pervert down the street but out of 100 people you know 90% enjoy porn. It is just so taboo in our culture that even though people want to watch it and enjoy they are scared to break the mold and be different.
To say that being the porn business is not a honest way to make a living you should look at tax reports and other files. They are all on paper and legit business’s making alot of money. Noone ever knocks a person for owning a succesful Bar when in reality all they are dealing out is a drug that inhabits the user and causes many of societies problems today.
So the Government put a axe to the constitution I guess
Seriously after watching the lectures and the Frontline movies I was rather irratated by what I saw. What I took that as, was the government trying regulate our lives even more indicating that we are not capable of making a choice on our own.
So they are prosecuting these movie producers for making and selling porns that contain fisting and other genres of pornography becasue some group made up of mostly middle aged moms, grandmothers, and consertatives can out weigh the open minded individuals in a vote on if it is obscene or not?
I beleive this a unfair and truely unjust of a way to handle this issue. Are these companies out just handing them out in the communities? Are they flashing advertisements during the commercial breaks of SpongeBob Square Pants? No, they are not it is the people in the community that are buying these movies because they want to see them and gain enjoyment from them. For someone to tell me that I am not allowed to watch a certain kind of porn because they find it obscene is just ridiculous. To me this go against aspects of freedom in having a choice in what we watch and do. If these movies are made by consenting adults and noone is being forced to do anything they do not want to then I do not see how they can make this illegal.
Misguided Teens in Government Funded Abstinence Programs (Scary Facts)
When I read this article I was extremely disturbed and scared for the youth of this nation. In this article they go on to inform the viewers of the misconceptions that these programs are teaching the children of our nation. Miilions of children between the ages of nine and eightteen participate in these programs every year.
As far as the list of lies fed to these children in all the programs there is a long list meant to be used as a scare tactic it seems. A few of the misconceptions listed in the article:
” Among the misconceptions cited by Waxman’s investigators:
A 43-day-old fetus is a “thinking person.”
• HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, can be spread via sweat and tears.
• Condoms fail to prevent HIV transmission as often as 31 percent of the time in heterosexual intercourse.”
Ok I know many of you are saying “How does this deal with class and pornography?”. Well Think about this, with all this talk about sex and what it is to children at the age of nine and ten years old do you think this will remove the interest in sex and sexual activities? I say HELL NO, it will only make them become aware of such things at a far earlier age. I myself never had to take a course like this till my Sophmore year in highschool. With children being “Educated” even if it is false information will push them to sources to see what this “Sex” thing is all about, it is human nature as a young child to explore. Now in the efforts of children to explore this topic it will eventually lead to the internet and porn sites being frequented by minors more and more. I think instead of spending all this money on providing false information to young children about sex they should put this money into a program that is developed to keep children safe on the internet from not just porn but also other predators (Pedafiles).
Ok I will stop rambling.
December 1957 “After Dark” Magazine released
This was the first Magazine to highlight young male actors, dancers, and choreographers with lenghy articles and revealing pictures. Many of these pictures were with other men nude together. The photographs were tasteful but at the same time shocking to many because of the first magazine catoring to the gay community.

Ps: I searched for some more information on the magazine but could not seem to come up with much more then this. It seems the only thing available are short scripts I found in my one source and sites selling original copies of the older magazines.
